Chris_C
Ah ha! and DoH I'd accidentally configured my project for an sxl4 instead of sxl9 - just a slip of a gui... I note there are a bunch of command line tools the ide runs, is it practical to use a makefile - rather that that makefiles and gui's that also explains why I was having so much trouble getting my head round clock tiles.... I need to re-implement now me thinks! my I suggest if you get a numerical code out of the programmer that you issue an *english* error message about "possibly incorrect bit file architecture " when detecting 0x19 .... would be handy for newbies.... gawds knows vhdl is such a pain it makes the simple task of digital design a spherical ache, without little gottchas like that!
