Nickoto
Just received my Papilio Pro and I've just powered it up over USB following the directions in the getting started link. I was able to get the drivers installed just fine and got the com ports to show up and what not. However, this is the output I'm getting over the com port from the factory default bit stream. It looks like the high 3 bits are getting cleared for a certain period of time... Have I set something up wrong? I've tried on 3 dfiferent machines, with a couple of different usb cables, running different OSes, and always get the same output (and one machine just hard locked and I had to reboot when I tried to read from the serial device). I haven't been able to write a new bistream either.0000000: 0a53 7461 1214 090e 0700 0d05 0d0f 1219 .Sta............0000010: 0014 0573 7420 6672 6f6d 2030 7832 3030 ...st from 0x2000000020: 3020 610e 0400 0205 190f 0e04 0d0a 0308 0 a.............0000030: 0503 6b20 7661 6c75 6520 6973 2030 7830 ..k value is 0x00000040: 6210 0210 0219 180d 0a06 0f15 0e64 2074 b............d t0000050: 6167 2061 7420 3030 3830 3030 1010 0d0a ag at 008000....0000060: 1405 1314 090e 0700 1510 0074 6f20 7468 ...........to th0000070: 6174 2e20 4669 6c6c 696e 670e 0e0e 0d0a at. Jack Gassett
Hmmm, I wonder if there is a flakey FTDI chip... It might behave just enough that it passed the factory tests but in actual real world usage it is flaking out. What happens when you try to program a new bit file? Jack. Nickoto
I'm not at home to test anything right now, but I saw the blinking LED stop momentarily, then resume. The output on the serial device resumed around the same place it had paused. I will admit I'm not sure exactly what was supposed to happen, but I assumed that since I was not attempting to write the flash it would reset to some initialized state. I take that back. This seems to work fine. It is just the serial data on port B that is busted.

Nickoto
Thanks! I can still do quite a bit, but having working serial coms would be nice
