VST Plugin

Hey Everyone,

I generated a VST plugin from the RetroCade Dashboard and uploaded it to the download section. I'm still working out how to use it in audio software like Ableton and Fruity Loops but I figured I would upload in case anyone out there with more experience using VST's wants to try it out.

So far this seems to work fine with LMMS with VeSTige.

The MIDI or something in the retrocade seems very good at missing notes if they come very fast though, my test was one track of a midi file created from Henry Homesweet's Okii Robo Navigation System (

) Though I'm not sure if all instances are due to the retrocade, though there do seem to be more missing notes than when played with a software instrument in lmms.

Is there a "lite" bit file available for 1.02?  The one linked here still says 1.01.

EDIT:

The RetroCade Lite Bit file linked above still has the bug.  I also tried the RetroCade Lite sketch from the GIT repository, that also has the NoteOff bug.

I went ahead and applied the patch manually, here is a modified RetroCade Lite sketch with the patch applied.

I am getting a bit of a click on the note off with "Accordian" and , but that may just be the decay settings on those patches.

Hi Andy,

To use the retrocade VST instrument in lmms you need to have a track using the VeSTige instrument, then load the dll in that instrument's settings.

You can find all the different instruments in the top tab on the left and side of the screen, drag the VeSTige one over a track's name to set it as that tracks instrument.

Then the VeSTige settings window should have opened on the screen, click on the green folder icon in there and browse to the retrocade dll and open it, this will load the vst plugin and will show you the retrocade dashboard GUI.

Btw It may be better to use the actual dashboard and loopMIDI since the way it works with a VST instrument is that it will only work on one track, it need to load the instrument again for another track which I believe is not supported by the dashboard itself.

With loopMIDI you can have different tracks use different midi channels.

Omni, have you upgraded to 1.02? There was a noteoff fix that might be causing the problem you are seeing.

Well, if the VST plugin that Flowstone generates does not work with the Mac then the only option will be to find a similar tool that can be used to make MIDI dashboards for the Mac. Does anyone know of any such thing?

Jack.

All parameter is possible control throught MIDI CCs ?

Or you may able make RE extension for Reason ... :) http://www.propellerheads.se/developer/rack-extensions.php
