andymanone
I´ve flashed my PT Retrocade with the special V1.02 (noSPI) Bitfile (Thx Jack, for uploading!!!) successfully. But when i try to start playing mod or Ym files from SD card it hangs What could be the reason for? (BTW., same SD and same Mod/YM Files runs perfectly on my final Retrocade!) Any idea? Thx,andY
Jack Gassett
Andy, I'm not really sure about what is going on here. I can't think of any technical reason for why it would not be working. When I shipped the prototypes out I didn't have the code to play YMD files from a SD card so I only tested that a directory could be listed on the SD card. It is possible that the hand soldered prototype that you have might just have a soldering problem or something that didn't show up with a simple directory listing... Can you try to use the combination of your production Papilio Pro with your prototype RetroCade MegaWing so we can cut the troubleshooting area in half and know if the issue is coming from the Papilio Pro board or the RetroCade MegaWing? Thanks,Jack.
andymanone
Hi Jack, be sure i´ve tried it before i wrote this posting. So i can say, it´s not an issue of the Prototyp Retocade, but the Prototype Papilio Pro. I tried out the PT Retrocade on the final Papilio Pro and it works very well! But with the PT RC and the PT PP, I´m able to list the YM and Mod files but if I choose one to play, the Retrocade freeze.. andY
Jack Gassett
Ok, well, once I get some stock of the Papilio Pro we should just swap out your prototype for a production one, not worth wasting time trying to figure out what is wrong with the prototype board. Maybe there is a bad solder joint or something on one of the FPGA pins. Jack.
