Wicked Minds Electronics
I have one of these SRAM chips... Datasheet I am specifically looking at VOH where it states 2.4V Min and no Max. I'd love to save myself ordering the 3.3v version and use this one but I don't want to blow 8 I/O lines the first time I read a byte from it. Jack Gassett
You should be fine if you use a 3.3V part. the VOH won't be higher then whatever VCC you supply. Jack.
Wicked Minds Electronics
I forgot to mention I have the 5v version of the SRAM and the datasheet linked is for the 5v version. So if all it needs is 5V power and the data lines will output 1's as 2.4v then I should be fine I would think. Or am I not reading the datasheet correctly? Jack Gassett
Oh, that's a no go. I didn't look too closely, I thought it was a 3.3V part. If you connect 5V then the I/O lines will output closer to 5V, not 2.4V. 2.4C is just the minimum threshold to be considered a logic 1. You want to acquire the 3.3V part, of course the Papilio Plus does have a SRAM chip already connected to it but we are only on prototypes right now. Still a couple months from production. Jack.
