hoglet 3 Report post Posted June 13, 2015 Hi all, Does anyone know if the Papilio One 250K is being discontinued? There's currently none in stock at SeeedStudio, and only a few left at the GadgetFactory store. Dave
johnbeetem 4 Report post Posted June 13, 2015 I sure hope not! At US$38 the Papilio One 250K is one of the best values out there for getting started with FPGAs and I often recommend it. The board has occasionally gone out of stock at Gadget Factory in the past.
Jack Gassett 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2015 Hey, it's not being discontinued, but there is so little profit margin with it that it often becomes a low priority and is more prone to running out of stock. There should be a new batch in the works right now. Jack

james1095 13 Report post Posted July 9, 2015 IMHO the 500k is a much better value, there's so much more you can do with the larger FPGA. The 250k is based on a rather old chip that is likely nearing end of life. For smaller projects, it's hard to beat the $17 Altera Cyclone II mini boards which are roughly equivalent in capacity to the Spartan3 250k.
