hoglet
Hi all, Does anyone know if the Papilio One 250K is being discontinued? There's currently none in stock at SeeedStudio, and only a few left at the GadgetFactory store. Dave
johnbeetem
I sure hope not! At US$38 the Papilio One 250K is one of the best values out there for getting started with FPGAs and I often recommend it. The board has occasionally gone out of stock at Gadget Factory in the past. Jack Gassett
Hey, it's not being discontinued, but there is so little profit margin with it that it often becomes a low priority and is more prone to running out of stock. There should be a new batch in the works right now. Jack

james1095
IMHO the 500k is a much better value, there's so much more you can do with the larger FPGA. The 250k is based on a rather old chip that is likely nearing end of life. For smaller projects, it's hard to beat the $17 Altera Cyclone II mini boards which are roughly equivalent in capacity to the Spartan3 250k.
