using Papilio Loader for programming non-Papilio boards

6 posts in this topic

Hey,

I was wondering if i could use the loader to program my own fpga board (which has a XC6SLX9-3TQG144C) ?

The board has FT2232H installed as the Papilio schematic instructed.

(sorry for bad english)

You could also use xc3sprog, Papilio loader is a customized version of that. For example, to program a different FPGA size or use a separate JTAG interface.

There is no need to program the eeprom for the ft2232 to work in MPSSE mode. By default it will work, so if the eeprom is blank or you don't even have a eeprom then you can still go into MPSSE mode. You just need the eeprom to program a VID/PID and go into some special modes like the optical mode.

Jack.
