DVI-D output

Recommended Posts

I've just got DVI-D running on a Spartan 6, starting from scratch (well, the DDWG specs at

http://www.ddwg.org/downloads.asp )

You can find the details of my project (incl all the vhdl source) here: http://hamsterworks.co.nz/mediawiki/index.php/Dvid_test

Feel free to use it in your own projects. Wonder if it will work on the Papilio Pro? Might have to butcher a cheap HDMI cable...

Mike

Wow great achivement, i saw it on hackaday. You cite the Pipistrello development board in your wiki page and in the hackaday article. I tried to find it with google but i got only links to your page, idem if not worst if i try to use the "Magnus Karlsson" keywords, could you please tell us where did you get that board from or any other hints about it ?

Many thanks,

fuzzy.

The board is pretty much a one-off made by Magnus Karlsson, who I bumped into on the forums at http://programmableplanet.com. He has no plans on marketing them - he made it for his own projects and ended up with more boards than he needs.

An update - I have also got 720p (1280x720@60Hz) to work using LVDS_33 as the I/O standard - so driving HDMI may be possible from a Spartan 3e!

I wouldn't fancy my chances over a long cable though....
