Possible to replace crystal ?

Recommended Posts

Sure, it is no problem to replace the crystal with a 50Mhz one. A hot air rework station will do the trick, but I also do it fairly often with just a soldering iron. If you put plenty of flux on the pads you should be able to heat up one side and then switch to the other side, keep switching back and forth until the part gets warm enough to slide off the pads. Just be careful not to use to much heat as it can damage the pads.

Another option is to keep the 32Mhz crystal on the board and use a DCM (Digital Clock Manager) to change the 32Mhz clock to a 50Mhz clock inside your project. I have recorded a tutorial about how to do this.
