    Papilio LED Panel Project

So awesome, sorry I've been catching up with work. I hope to post my panel soon as well! Thanks for your help Alvie!

I have identified two of them on the board.

    Papilio LED Panel Project

OK! So most of the chips say: CHIPONE ICN2026CF A.CE8M13.1 others (smaller ones) say: 4953 3I1H one outlier is: CHIPONE ICM74HC138 H.CE8F17.1 The biggest chip on it says: CHIPONE ICN74HC245 H.CE8E1L.1 Anything else I should grab on it?

    Papilio LED Panel Project

I tried a few ways to get this done. I even tried putting the board on my flatbed scanner! I'll keep you posted when I get a good visual captured. Again, appreciate your help.

    Papilio LED Panel Project

That would be most excellent. I would love to learn more VHDL. I will continue to see if I can dig up a data sheet however feel free to post any VHDL solution and I will give it a shot. Thank you for the offer.

    Papilio LED Panel Project

Thanks Alvie, I'm not sure which datasheet you would need. For the panel itself? I admit I don't know enough to make the necessary timing changes to this library so it will work. Would love to learn more about how to understand the parameters at work here. Any recommendations on beginner resources?

    Papilio LED Panel Project

Thanks for the reply Jack. I'm back at it and you are right. WGM11, WGM13, WGM12, TIMSK1, TIFR1 aren't lining up. Any ideas on where I could find the atmega103 equivalent for these constants? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks! I did find this document which I suspect may have the remnants marked as obsolete.

    Papilio LED Panel Project

Hi All, I am new to the world of FPGAs and have really enjoyed learning more. I recently purchased the Papilio 500k + Logic Start mega wing and worked my way through a few tutorials. My impression of is that there are a lot of ways to accomplish the same thing using both VHDL and code versus just code. I recently purchased and hooked up this panel: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12584 I wanted to build a program to display messages. I've seen a few projects where this is done but am not sure how to proceed. The hook up guide spark fun has includes libraries for Arduino that can be used but do they need to be ported? If so, to what? I'm jumping ahead of my capability level since I'm pretty excited about this project so pardon any silly questions.

    Cannot get programmer version, aborting

This worked for me. I was connecting my Papilio through a USB hub. This was slightly confusing as the Papilio Loader seemed to work but by plugging the USB into it's own port resolved all issues for me.

    Cannot get programmer version, aborting

I loaded the Quickstart bit file successfully. I'm not sure if I am connecting to the second, Channel B port. I'm not sure how to specify that on Windows however. I tried digging into this a little further but couldn't find a way to specify channels.

    Cannot get programmer version, aborting

Here is the output from the Papilio loader. I had performed an Erase and Verify before this action. https://gist.github.com/mwcbrent/3b7aafbd45db8ff40cad I opened up ZAP 2.2.0 and ran the Logic Start Mega Wing example (From the schematics dropdown). I received the following output from ZAP: https://gist.github.com/mwcbrent/e6d2ed2e5e4972a7a488

    Cannot get programmer version, aborting

So I followed the instructions you noted as well as the ones in the heading of the example file. I loaded the bitfile and tried to run the example. It compiles successfully but gives me the same error. I am starting to download the ISE design tools so I have not made my own bitfile. Any thoughts on what I could do to diagnose the issue further?

    ZPUino Info

Jack, is http://www.alvie.com/zpuino/download.html the best spot for windows users? Seems like forum.gadgetfactory.net/index.php?/topic/1899-papilio-schematic-library-v16-and-zap-ide-220/ is the latest and greatest. That is, unless you are compiling from source?
