In fact, someone made a very nice tutorial about implementing the free Microblaze MCS on the Papilio:

While we do not have a TFT Wing in production at the moment we have made one work:

Attached is the Open Source PCB design if you would like to get some made.

Hi!

Spartan 6 does not support SDRAM interface, it only support DDR, DDR2 and LPDDR. Xilinx EDK does not support the SDRAM on Papilio Pro Board. Kindly clarify

Microblaze MCS is a free version of the Microblaze Soft Processor that does not have any memory interfaces. It is just meant to be used stand alone.

If you want to get into generating your own version of Microblaze with a memory interface and even more features then you need the $500 EDK software. When I first made the Papilio Pro I tried to use an evaluation version of the EDK to make a simple memory test using Microblaze and at that time I can confirm that there was no Spartan 6 SDRAM controller. I did read that you could hand build a Microblaze soft processor by pulling the SDRAM controller out of an earlier version of the EDK and targeted for another chip. But that would be quite some work...

Hi!

Is there any plan for Changing 54-pin SDRAM to 66-pin DDR memory from Micron. then it would make work much easier. May be you have to add anothjer power rail for 2.5 V for DDR. I think it would not be much harder to do it. 54-pin as well as 66-pin package would occupy the same board space according to datasheet.

thankyou.
