Guest josheeg
are their 32 bit open core processors with a gcc compiler? can many of them fit into a chip to do some tough things like calculate cos or sqrt. for rapid prototiping of parrellel modules.?? Jack Gassett
Yes, There are several good options: Yes, I really like the MBLite core so far, as of right now with the information I have that would be the first 32 bit core I would implement. Nice Whitepaper about MBLite. The Zylin ZPU is a close second, but I think the MBLite has the edge in that it should run ucLinux with the addition of SRAM. There is also the Lattice Mico32 http://www.latticesemi.com/products/intellectualproperty/ipcores/mico32/index.cfm
Guest alex
Also there's Plasma http://opencores.org/project,plasma if you like MIPS.
Jack Gassett
And of course we can't forget about Alvie's ZPUino! It is a 32 bit processor that supports the gcc compiler and the Arduino IDE. 32-bits, running at 100Mhz, includes a VGA controller, and optimized for the Papilio! Can't get any better then that. Jack.
